Adding structure to your team huddles

Team huddles are a powerful way to keep your team focused, aligned, and motivated—when done correctly.

Most meetings are too long. Some aren’t even necessary. If we’ve learned anything from 2020’s shift to remote and hybrid working, it’s that we must be intentional about how and why we meet. We’ve always felt this is the case despite the outputs from the lockdown era. Being intentional and purposeful in your conversations with your team will ensure they stay motivated, engaged and focused.

One meeting that should always be a priority, in our opinion, is the team huddle—a short, structured session that ensures clarity, accountability, and momentum.

This is a short, snappy roundtable, often no more than 15 minutes. They provide a regular way to set and share priorities, provide critical updates and hold people accountable.

The Purpose of Team Huddles

Unlike long-winded meetings, team huddles are designed to be quick and efficient—usually no more than 15 minutes. They help:

  • Set and share weekly priorities
  • Provide critical updates without unnecessary discussion
  • Keep everyone aligned on key projects
  • Boost accountability and celebrate wins

    Why Structure is Key

Without a structured team huddle, meetings can quickly lose focus. A clear framework ensures that everyone knows what to expect, stays engaged, and gets value from the discussion.

That’s why we’ve created an easy-to-follow guide that helps you:

    • Track and measure key activities
    • Record important updates, absences, and commitments
    • Identify team successes and challenges
    • Highlight training or support needs
