Happy people deliver. It can be that simple. But our organisations are a mixture of human beings, and we all have various beliefs, traits, ways in which we prefer to communicate (or not) and we all choose to work in OUR own way.
Seven years in Insights Discovery
I’ve been delivering Insights Discovery for 7 years. Prior to that I’ve worked for nearly 20 years in HR planning and operational leadership roles where I would employ coaches to help me and my teams work more effectively. I’d find inspirational trainers to impart valuable knowledge. But no one was able to provide guidance on how to build, embed or enhance my company’s culture.
I’ve seen many positive results. I’m proud to say that in 2024 I’ll be helping over 1000 leaders to be happier at work. It doesn’t just stop there. Because you cannot unlearn Insights Discovery and the details you find out about yourself. You cannot stop seeing it within others either.
It leads to a positive feedback loop in knowledge dissemination. Knowledge propagation as it’s called. This is the process where knowledge is shared from one person to others, who then continue to share it further.
It literally is unforgettable.
On that note, let me tell you more about Insights Discovery.
Insights Discovery explained
Insights Discovery is a psychometric tool based on the work of psychologist Carl Jung. You’ve probably heard of him before.
It uses a simple, colour-coded system to represent different personality types: Cool Blue, Earth Green, Sunshine Yellow, and Fiery Red.
Each colour highlights unique traits and communication preferences, helping individuals gain a deeper understanding of themselves and others.
What is the purpose of Insights Discovery?
Our overall goal is to enable leaders to better understand and motivate others – team members, peers, stakeholders and their own personal relationships. This isn’t just about working relationships I’ll have you know.
The results of Insight Discovery profiling allows you to learn about yourself, but also gain perspective about others. By acknowledging each of your team member’s unique contributions and needs, leaders can create an engaged and high-performing culture.
I see it time and time again. The ‘ah-ha’ moments. The realisation that we can understand ourselves as leaders, pause, and then turn our attention to truly understand the person in front of us with the goal of getting something really great out of the working task.
Little by little, this simple ‘appreciating others’ method creates a better working environment.
Is Insights Discovery accurate?
Like any psychometric tool or personality test, its accuracy depends on several factors. There are trained facilitators, such as myself and my team at Culturev8te.
The honesty of your responses within the questionnaire stage is vital to begin with. I also hold accountability to deliver the workshop or 121 session with utmost unbiased explanation. And of course, self-awareness from all individuals involved. This latter point is key, and influences the future of your learnings and movement forward as an organisational team.
However, research supports its reliability and validity as a measure of personality traits.
How long does an Insights Discovery test take?
The questionnaire is conducted online and consists of 25 questions, typically taking no more than 15 minutes.
The delivery of the workshop, as a wider organisational team or group is a full day session. I also offer 121 profiling, which takes 2 hours after the questionnaire is complete.
The key take aways here:
- Insights Discovery is accurate
- Happy people deliver
- Self awareness leads to better understanding of others
- And when we understand ourselves and others, communication becomes open and we hold empathy
I offer free consultations – I’ve always got time to share my learnings and results from delivering Insights Discovery.
